Interviewer: Anthony Andujar Jr

Interviewee: Jazmin AKA Pkjaz11

Hello and welcome to the Artist Ant Interviews People Fall Series! Welcome to another edition to
my latest talks with local and global creatives that are alive, hustling and thriving in their respective
crafts! Now these last few weeks have been busy, so there wasn't a lot of time to upload the latest
interviews up until today! With that said, I have a special guest who is living proof that if you start off
in art at a later period in time, you can always learn to grow and develop within the craft! I can say that
this individual has remained consistent in her love for the arts and illustration, and it shows.
Ladies and Robots of the digital realm, please welcome, Jazmin!

Q0. Who are your inspirations?

PKJ: I like a lot of classical art like DaVinci. I am really into Jose Guadalupe Posada, and Frida Khalo.
Inspiration can come from admiring their art but also from anything or anybody really.
A face at the store, a sunset driving home....

Q1. How did you get into art, most notably writing?

PKJ: Writing was one of my first loves. I always struggled to communicate emotions and
writing was an easier route of expression for me (Poetry, stories & essays).
Art coming in as a close second. (although they switch back and forth).

Q2. When did you take art seriously?

PKJ: About 3 years ago,I really took a dive and decided I would focus on one hobby at a time and
try to master it. I am still trying. Haha.

Q3. What drives you in your daily life?

PKJ: In my daily non-internet life, I strive to be a person who is part of change for my community in
one way or another (through work or volunteering).
Empathy drives my motivation and art is my way of resting and restoring myself.

Q4. What made you the person that you are today?

PKJ: Big changes, big painful events, and my journey through those events--while being fortunate to find
people along the way who let me grow and encouraged me while respecting my silence.

Q5.  If you could speak to any living creator or inspiration, who would it be, why, and what would talk to them about?
PKJ: I would love to meet and talk to Serj Tankian (lead singer of System of a Down).
I think he is just brilliant and full of experience. I listen to a lot of his music while I create art.
I would want to talk about his creative process and anything he'd share would be of value. There's tons of Instagram artist that I would love to meet in real life and create art with them.

Q6. If there were any deceased creators, actors, singers, writers, etc that you would want to speak to, who would it be, and why?
PKJ:   A non-creative inspiration of my life is Viktor Frankl. He was a psychologist who survived
Auschwitz but lost everything and everyone. I would want to hear anything he'd have to say. His ideas on life and theories on survival guilt. (He wrote a few books, I definitely recommend reading them)

Q7. If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
PKJ: Tel Aviv, Israel. I have a list of many places but right now that's my number one.

Q8. What is one thing that you fear?
PKJ: Losing the people I love.

Q 9.  If you had a superpower what would it be and why?
PKJ: Teleportation! Because I love to travel and I am a thrifty person haha! So this would be perfect!

Q10. What catches your attention when you meet people?
PKJ: People who are genuinely themselves and aren't afraid of what other's think about them. Self-confidence shines!

Q11. What is one word of advice that you would impart to your younger self?
 PKJ: Every storm will pass.

Man's search for Meaning. by Viktor E. Frankl
A Wolf at the Table, by Augusten Burroughs

Each of them spoke to a broken part of me and helped me heal. <3

PKJ: I am big crime/ true crime/psych thrillers fan as far as series and movies go.
Anamorph would be an awesome remake!
