I’ve had the privilege of watching his art, content and skills develop, and I think that it is only right that all of you in the digital realm take part in witnessing that journey as well. Ladies and gentlemen of the matrix, please welcome the brainchild, the think tank, the writer, and illustrator of this soon to be recognized universe, Hybreed Comics!

Q0. Who are your inspirations?

HB:  The thing that got inspired to do comics was when I read the first ever comic ; War of Kings. I looked into the author / illustrator and I was amazed by how he could come up with the stories and illustrating the comics. I have aspired to be as such, writing and illustrating for Hybreed Comics. On the other hand, since last year, I have been watching artist James Raiz's (@boxofficeartist) Youtube channel and his comic style is undeniably the best one to me. Just by watching his videos, I got motivated even more to create characters and pursue on with a Marvel Cinematic Universe tribute.

Q1. How did you get into art, most notably writing?

HB: Despite not having art as a source of my income, I took art in high school and ever since then, I am proud to say that my art has improved a lot. I love comics and pop culture. From these many references, I attained a load amount of ideas in creative writing. I had a lot of characters in mind and I thought that these characters need substances (storylines). I do not want them to be just drawings, I want them to have emotions, backstories and basically put life to it.

Q2. When did you decide to pursue comics seriously?

HB: Marvel Comics has played a huge part in influencing me to do art. I mostly read Marvel and DC comics but Marvel has gotten a bigger role in this matter because of its cinematic universe. I feel that it is really interesting when they portray their characters in the big screen. And that was when I thought that I should start pursuing in comics because I feel that having them in comics first would give them more substance as pop culture material. Additionally, James Raiz motivated me to pursue comics. In every videos that he posts, he will say "Keep on drawing", hence I kept on drawing the things that I love; comics.

Q2.1. What is Hybreed comics? What is it about?

HB: Hybreed Comics like any other comic book publishers is a universe of its own. A universe filled with histories, loads of original characters with backstories, superhuman beings, extraterrestrials lives ranging from aliens to alien robots, mythical creatures and more. It started with its own unique start of the universe, has its own fictional nation, namely Tairon, a nation built by genetically inclined beings caused by the war between heaven and hell. Even though the name Hybreed Comics is derived from one of the main characters, Hybreed, the stories do not only focus on his, but the whole universe as a whole.

Q2.2. What are the challenges of creating stories in an overly saturated time where pop culture is everywhere?

HB: Copyrights is definitely the main issue in creating stories. Some stories / character ideas that I had in mind might probably been used by other writers. Hence it is really hard to go outside the box and create truly original ideas.

Q2.3. What series do you have in the works?

HB: I am currently getting off grid from Hybreed Comics works because I am busy with my Marvel Cinematic Universe tribute. I think it is a good exercise for me because I get to brush up on my skills before I get back to Hybreed Comics. It is also to show how much I appreciate MCU in motivating me in creating my own comic universe. Hence, this tribute is to "give back' to the MCU and hopefully through the tribute, I get to promote my Instagram account and my comic ideas as well.

Q2.4. Do you have a particular favorite creator owned character of yours  that you like? Why that character?

HB: That's a tough one but I am gonna go with Major Mustang. To be honest, he has the simplest design, a singlet and an army pants but he has one of the most intricate and interesting storylines. He is a character that will have to face the most number of difficult times. He had to make a lot of sacrifices and even forced to kill good people. His life is scarred and I think that he is the embodiment of portraying even heroes have their own fall outs.

Q2.5. When crafting plot and scripts, what goes into the process of it?

HB: First thing to do is to make sure that the plot is original because it would be futile to continue writing if the story is already existing out there. Next is to make sure that the story needs to flow smoothly, create a logline and develop my characters. I usually would rewrite and rewrite my script to make sure that I get the best out of it.

Q2.6. Are you the only creator of the series, is there any collaborators that are taking part in this studio of yours?

HB:  Yes I am the only creator in Hybreed Comics so far.

Q2.7. What is the goal of Hybreed comics?

HB: I have always dreamed of seeing my characters as pop culture phenomenon. Rising from the comics arena, it would be an ultimate goal to produce them into a cinematic or animated universe. To me, film adaptation is the ultimate goal of most writers because it shows how interested producers from other platforms are in our writing.

Q2.8. Is there any projects in the pipeline that the readers should keep an eye for?

HB: I am planning to start doing sequential works for my main characters once I am done with MCU tribute. I would wanna do a short issue of my character Hybreed and in hopes of getting readers to love him.

Q3. What drives you in your daily life?

HB: I start my day in hopes that I would make today a better day than yesterday.

Q4. What made you the person that you are today?

HB: Trials after trials, failures after failures. I think that the obstacles in life is the key factor in shaping me into who I am today. From these obstacles, I learn to grow maturely and judge the right and wrong.

Q5.  If you could speak to any living creator or inspiration, who would it be, why, and what would talk to them about?

HB: I would love to talk to John Romita Sr. One reason being the co-creator of Nova (Richard Rider). Richard Rider is one of my favourites and I would love to talk to him about his ideation process for Nova.

Q6. If there were any deceased creators , actors, singers, writers, etc that you would want to speak to, who would it be, and why?

HB: It will definitely be none other than our late Sir Stan Lee. Even though he isn't around anymore, I wish I could talk to him about my ideas and ask him how he thinks about them. As the greatest creator in the comic industry, I would ask for his guidance on how to create something out of nothing.

Q7. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?

HB: I would love to be in the Marvel Studios.

Q8. What is one thing that you fear?

HB: Rejection.

Q 9.  If you had a superpower what would it be and why?

HB: Omnipotence :) because you would have everything.

Q10. What catches your attention when you meet people?

HB: I love observing people's character and how they act towards their surroundings.

Q11. What is one word of advice that you would impart to your younger self?

HB: Always follow your passion because you will definitely do it out of the purest sincerity.

Q12. What are three books that you always remember or return to, and why? How did they shape you?

HB: Eragon, LOTR and War of Kings. Eragon was the first ever book that I read and it was scripted out of perfection. These three titles are the embodiment of perfect writing and scripts. And every time I write, I would use them as a guide.

Q13. If you could continue or remake a movie, or franchise, what would be your film of choice ?

HB: It will be The Incredible Hulk (2008) because despite being such a phenomenal franchise, Marvel Studios has definitely failed to utilise Hulk. His stories should be told more thoroughly and I wished they made more Hulk movies.

Q14.  If you were to make a film, novel, or comic book based on an album, what album or artist would you pick?

HB: I would pick Slipknot because they would make a phenomenal comic book franchise. Everything about them, their songs, their costumes are artistically inclined. They would make a really cool group of bandits.

Q15. Who In this life, has motivated you to stay true to what makes you who are?

HB: It will be my beloved mother. She is the sole reason why I pushed on in Hybreed Comics. Her neverending support has been the main driving force for me honestly.

Q16. Where do you hope to see yourself in five years?

HB: In five years, I would like to see at least one my series to be published out there.

Q17. What are three albums or songs currently, that you listen to on
repeat? And why?

HB:

  1.     Marvel Cinematic Universe tracks - listening to cinematic songs enhances my drawing sessions.

  1.  Slipknot's “We Are Not Your Kind” - Its new.

  1. All of Trivium's albums - my favourite band.

Q18. What color speaks to you the most and why?

HB: Grey because grey is calm and cooling. I relate to it whenever I get mad and it's a source of my comfort. The colour is mundane but meaningful to me.

Q19: What is your greatest weakness?

HB: Fear of failing the ones I love.

Q20. What is your greatest strength?

HB: Compassion.

Q21.What's one thing that you're proud of?

HB: I am proud of how my artistic skills have improved over the years.

Q22. What is a mantra that you tell yourself?

HB: Do not wait for a specific day (New Year's Resolution) to change yourself for the better, why wait when you can do it now?

Q23. What is success to you?

HB: Success is achieved when you feel that all the things that you have worked hard on has come to the ultimate satisfaction. This is when all your goals are met, pioneering in whatever area you're at.
