Hello and welcome to the Artist Ant Interviews People Summer Series! Today I have a new guest that has been very supportive of my art work, and illustrative journey since I first entered Instagram all the way back in 2014. An illustrator, a family man, a social worker, and an all around positive guy that is dedicated to bringing joy to his community. I'd like to introduce to you all my latest interviewee Bruce Chhiv AKA Aspen_Art!
Q0. Who are your inspirations?
BC: I am a huge comic book and video game art fan. My first inspiration was Todd McFarlane, followed by Greg Capullo. Michael Turner made me appreciate drawing the female form. As far as video game art, I am hugely inspired by "Bengus" who did a lot of artwork for Capcom fighting games and Yoji Shinkawa of Metal Gear fame, as well as Artgerm.
Q1. How did you get into art, most notably writing?
BC: I've been doing art since I was 2-3. So 1988-89.
Q2. When did you take art seriously?
BC: I started taking art seriously in High School, 2000.
Q3. What drives you in your daily life?
BC: I love making people happy and helping others. I am a social worker, I enjoy treating my wife and family. I want to stay motivated for everyone else's sake.
Q4. What made you the person that you are today?
BC: My Parents, and my friends have shaped me into who I am today. I think I have the greatest parents ever and they also guided me to learn how to pick great friends. Stan Lee provided me with a love for Marvel... Bruce Lee got me into action films.

Q5. If you could speak to any living creator or inspiration, who would it be, why, and what would talk to them about?
BC: I would like to speak with Todd McFarlane, I'd love to hear about how he did everything back when there was no social media or high speed internet.
Q6. If there were any deceased creators , actors, singers, writers, etc that you would want to speak to, who would it be, and why?
BC: Stan Lee and Bruce Lee... I just want to thank them for being awesome and Id love to talk about anything with them.
Q7. If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?
BC: Japan is on my Bucket List.
Q8. What is one thing that you fear?
BC: Spiders... also dying young.
Q10. If you had a superpower what would it be and why?
BC: I would wish to be extremely intelligent without compromising my personal morals or attitude about life.
Q11. What catches your attention when you meet people?
BC: The way the present themselves and how they treat others.
Q12. What is one word of advice that you would impart to your younger self?
BC: Don't be afraid to live a little, experiment more.

Q13. What are three books that you always remember or return to, and why? How did they shape you?
BC: Salem's Lot, The Shining, Cujo. I love horror, they made me a huge fan of the horror genre.
Q14. If you could continue or remake a movie, or franchise, what would be your film of choice ?
BC: I would remake the whole Transformer's series... Michael Bay ruined them.
Q15. If you were to make a film, novel, or comic book based on an album, what album or artist would you pick?
BC: I would make a film based on Calvin Harris 18 months album.. there are so many unique songs and artists that there could be a fun story that comes out of it.
Q16. Who In this life, has motivated you to stay true to what makes you who are?
BC: My parents and wife.
Q17. Where do you hope to see yourself in five years?
BC: Finished with my graduate degree and in a management/supervisory position in my field.
Q18. What are three albums or songs currently, that you listen to on repeat? And why?
BC: I've been enjoying the new Ed Sheeran album that came out last week, I also have been listening to a lot of "Felix Cartel" and Kendrick Lamar's "Damn"
Q19. What color speaks to you the most and why?
BC: Purple, it was gang neutral where I grew up.
Q20: What is your greatest weakness?
BC: I have really bad attention and motivation issues sometimes.
Q21. What is your greatest strength?
BC: I care about people and am very loyal.
Q22.What's one thing that you're proud of?
BC: I am proud of how I present myself and how my close relationships are.
Q21. What is a mantra that you tell yourself?
BC: Try to ignore the negativity.
Q22. What is success to you?
BC: Success is being happy with what you got and can do. Reach for the stars, but don't kill yourself in the process.
